Camp Ithiel is a Christian camp and retreat center in Gotha, FL near Orlando, right between Ocoee and Windermere. Camp Ithiel exists to serve people through Jesus christ in a place apart for faith and personal development. Camp Ithiel is an outdoor ministry of the Atlantic Southeast District Church of the Brethren. In 1948, after several years of offering summer youth camps in various locations throughout Florida, the Atlantic Southeast District churches decided to secure a permanent site to host overnight camps. It was agreed that the property should be located in central Florida. In December of that same year, twenty acres near Orlando was purchased and became the permanent home of Ithiel Camp and Retreat Center.
Now, more than sixty years later, thousands of youth have attended summer camp at Camp Ithiel. Multiple overnight youth camps for different age groups encompass the modern-day Camp Ithiel. Campers have been positively influenced as staff point them to the life of Christ, serving and caring for them year after year.
Our camp and retreat center also serves various groups groups who rent our facilities for their special gatherings (retreats, meetings, weddings, etc). Camp Ithiel identifies itself as being a welcoming ministry, inviting groups to come and experience God through staff and a beautiful part of Creation.
